About Dr. Anderson

Dr. Matthew Anderson grew up in Tyler, Texas. He earned his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin and received his medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Afterward, he completed his Internal Medicine residency and Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He later served on the UT Southwestern faculty before joining Austin Pulmonary Consultants in 2011.

Today, Dr. Anderson treats a wide range of pulmonary and critical care conditions. In particular, he has clinical interests in thoracic oncology, interstitial lung disease, and sepsis management. Additionally, he is board-certified in Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine. He has also received multiple Texas Super Doctors (2020 to 2023) and Texas Rising Stars honors (2013, 2015, and 2016). Outside of work, he enjoys photography, home brewing, travel, running, and fly fishing.

About Dr. Chen

Dr. Huaizhen "Jennifer" Chen immigrated from China to the United States at the age of five. Since then, she has proudly called Austin home. She earned her undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin and received her medical degree from UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Afterward, she completed her Internal Medicine residency there and later served as an Assistant Professor. She then completed a Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine fellowship in Atlanta, Georgia. Today, Dr. Chen treats a wide range of pulmonary and critical care conditions. She focuses on asthma, COPD, thoracic oncology, and sepsis management.

Additionally, she is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, watching movies, and playing board and video games.

About Dr. Shah

Dr. Shenil Shah is originally from northern New Jersey. He earned his undergraduate degree from Boston College and received his medical degree from St. George's University. Afterward, he completed his Internal Medicine residency and Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. He also served as Chief Fellow during his final fellowship year.

In particular, he has special interests in asthma and thoracic oncology. Additionally, he is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine. Austin Monthly has recognized him as one of Austin's Top Doctors.

He has also shared his expertise through interviews with organizations, including WebMD. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three sons, fitness, sports, and reading.

About Dr. Patel

Dr. Love Patel grew up in Lubbock, Texas. He earned his Biology degree from Texas Tech University before receiving his medical degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center. Afterward, he completed his Internal Medicine residency and Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago. During fellowship, he earned the Department of Medicine's Fellow of the Year award for excellence in patient care and teaching.

Today, Dr. Patel treats a wide range of lung conditions, including asthma, COPD, and pulmonary nodules. Additionally, he specializes in robotic bronchoscopy for the early diagnosis of lung cancer. He is board-certified in Pulmonary and Internal Medicine. Outside of medicine, he enjoys traveling with his wife, exploring the outdoors, camping, and staying active through regular exercise.

About Dr. Mahendran

Dr. Menaka Mahendran grew up in Racine, Wisconsin. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from Saint Louis University before receiving her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. Afterward, she completed her Internal Medicine residency at The University of Kansas and a Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at the University of Florida. She later served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Cincinnati before relocating to Austin.

Today, Dr. Mahendran treats a broad range of pulmonary conditions. In particular, she focuses on asthma, COPD, interstitial lung disease, and critical care medicine. Additionally, she is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, and Critical Care Medicine. Outside of work, she enjoys exercising, baking, and spending time with her family.

About Dr. Sint

Dr. Thaw Sint was born and raised in Myanmar. He earned his Biology degree from Wabash College, graduating Magna Cum Laude, before receiving his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. Afterward, he completed his Internal Medicine residency and Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at the University of North Carolina. He joined Austin Pulmonary Consultants in 2007 and became a partner in 2009.

Additionally, he earned board certification in Sleep Medicine because of his special interest in sleep apnea and other sleep disorders. He is also board-certified in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. Furthermore, Dr. Sint received the 2012 Frist Humanitarian Award for his compassionate patient care and community service. Outside of medicine, he enjoys gardening, traveling, reading, exercising, and spending time with his family.

About Dr. Rajan

Dr. Subramaniyam Rajan grew up in Dallas, Texas. He earned his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas before receiving his medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center Long School of Medicine. Afterward, he completed his Internal Medicine residency at Columbia University and his Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He later returned to Austin to be closer to family.

Today, Dr. Rajan treats asthma, COPD, lung infections, interstitial lung disease, thoracic oncology, and other respiratory conditions. Additionally, he performs advanced bronchoscopy procedures and cares for critically ill patients. He is board-certified in Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and Neurocritical Care Medicine. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, cycling, and spending time with his family.

About Dr. Bartek

Dr. William Bartek is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Dickinson College, graduating Magna Cum Laude and joining Phi Beta Kappa. He later received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, where he became a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Afterward, he completed his Internal Medicine residency and Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He joined Austin Pulmonary Consultants in 2008 and currently serves as Medical Director of the Intensive Care Unit at St. David's South Austin Medical Center.

Additionally, he specializes in thoracic oncology, endobronchial ultrasound, and electromagnetic navigational bronchoscopy. He also coauthored published research on sepsis treatment.

About Dr. Korpole

Dr. Pranay Korpole earned his medical degree from Kasturba Medical College in India before completing his postgraduate training in Michigan. Afterward, he completed his Internal Medicine residency at Trinity Health Livonia Hospital, followed by a Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine fellowship through Michigan State University. He later completed Sleep Medicine training at Henry Ford Health.

Before joining Austin Pulmonary Consultants, he served as Chief Resident, Chief Fellow, and Teaching Hospitalist. Today, Dr. Korpole treats a wide range of pulmonary and sleep disorders, with a special interest in hypoventilation.

Additionally, he is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, reading, traveling, hiking, and kayaking.

About Dr. Rao

Dr. Usha Rao is originally from Houston, Texas. She earned her undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin before receiving her medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Afterward, she completed her Internal Medicine residency at UC Davis Medical Center and her Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She later practiced with The Permanente Medical Group in California before joining Austin Pulmonary Consultants in 2023.

Today, Dr. Rao treats a variety of pulmonary conditions, including asthma, COPD, and interstitial lung disease. Additionally, she is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine. She is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care that helps patients achieve better respiratory health.

About Nurse Dayal

Melani Dayal was born and raised in Austin, Texas. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Afterward, she worked for five years in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at St. David's South Austin Medical Center. She later returned to The University of Texas to earn her Master of Science in Nursing before joining Austin Pulmonary Consultants in 2010.

Today, Melani provides compassionate, patient-centered pulmonary care as a board-certified Clinical Nurse Specialist and Advanced Practice Nurse. Additionally, she is committed to helping patients better understand their conditions while supporting their long-term respiratory health.
