Medical Emergencies

We do not typically take walk-in appointments as we are not an urgent care facility. In the event of a life-threatening medical emergency, call emergency medical services at 911 immediately. Do not wait! Inform the emergency room staff that you are a patient of Austin Pulmonary, and they will contact us.

If you have an urgent medical need and need to speak with one of our providers after regular office hours, please call the Austin Pulmonary office nearest you. Our on-call team is available to assist patients when urgent concerns arise. As a result, your call will be returned as

To help us provide timely care for all patients, we ask that you give at least 24 hours' notice when canceling an appointment. Otherwise, a missed appointment or no-show fee may apply. Existing patients who miss their appointment will receive a $50 no-show fee, while new patients who miss their scheduled appointment will receive a $75 no-show fee.

Furthermore, patients may not be rescheduled until the no-show fee has been paid. In addition, patients who repeatedly miss appointments may be dismissed from the practice. However, missed new patient appointments may be rescheduled at the physician's discretion.

At Austin Pulmonary, we accept Medicare and most major insurance plans. However, coverage may vary depending on your specific provider and policy. Therefore, we encourage you to contact your insurance company or call our office nearest you to verify your benefits before your appointment.

Additionally, if your insurance plan requires a co-payment, co-insurance, or deductible, payment will be due at the time of your visit. For your convenience, we accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

If you have questions regarding billing, insurance coverage, or payments, our billing specialists will be happy to assist you. Simply contact the Austin Pulmonary office nearest you for additional support.

If your insurance is an HMO or managed care plan, you may be required to obtain a referral from your primary care physician before scheduling an office visit. Therefore, please confirm your referral requirements with your insurance provider before your appointment.

In addition, we recommend coordinating this process with your primary care physician as early as possible. If the required referral has not been received by the time of your appointment, your visit may need to be rescheduled.

Austin Pulmonary maintains hospital affiliations with St. David's Round Rock, St. David's North Austin Medical Center, St. David's Medical Center, and St. David's South Austin Medical Center. As a result, our physicians can coordinate care more effectively when hospitalization or specialized procedures are required.

Prescriptions and medication refills for established Austin Pulmonary patients are routinely processed during regular office hours. For the fastest service, we encourage patients to submit refill requests through the Patient Portal.

However, refills are generally not issued during evenings, weekends, or holidays because our physicians may not have immediate access to your complete medical records. Therefore, we recommend requesting refills several days before your medication runs out. By planning ahead, you can help prevent interruptions in your treatment and ongoing medication therapy.
